Florecer

Inelegant and vibrant it drew me in as my car was serviced at the gasoline station. Its life was sustained by a concrete planter, who wore its Sunday’s best as potpourri of coats of paint. It pacified me in the heart of decay, and I stood and watched as the attractiveness wore away by smoggy seconds. A loud honk warned the end of an oil change, a quick snap to immortalize the bloom.
